Chopin Ballade No.1 in Gm Op.23

Vladimir Horowitz, 1965
This recording is live without any studio patchwork, and there are a few mistakes present. This selection is intentional.

  • 2:57 Did someone just sigh??

  • @korlock3000 it's a live recording so... there are going to be mistakes. horowitz isn't my favorite either, but i don't think he isn't musically/technically brilliant. that other video of zimmerman playing isnt live. you can tell it's cut multiple times. im sure he made a couple of screwups too.

  • 238 note streak! dayum 5:05 - 5:26

  • but i liked it love it learning it

  • the piano needs to be tuned or the recorder is just bad

  • Ow that was baaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

  • I'm sorry...but this is terrible. Horowitz is EXTREMELY OVERRATED. I mean did you not hear the section at 7:28 to the end? Listen to Zimerman's performance. Horowitz probably made more musical and technical mistakes in this one recording than in all of Zimerman's recorded career...and I'm not exaggerating.

  • @kasonleung Are you kidding me?!?!?!? It was never that close! More like: Horowitz OVER 9000, Bieber 0.

  • I've tried to say goodbye, but I realize how unhappy this makes me feel. However, I guess my friend hopes it's a real goodbye. I think my friend prefers things end this way. Please, just an "ok" and I'll never never again say one more word. Could you please say "ok, this is the end"? It's too hard, but I must accept this, no matter how painful it's gonna be for me. I suppose the sooner the better.

  • @RH98 No it is not. Also very strange and obvious but not as blatant as the one at 2:04... Please try Perlemuter's version of this ballade and you will no longer be able to stand this
