i believe beckham was barely offside hard to tell though.
the commentator was incorrect it doesn´t matter if beckham wouldn´t have touched the ball because a player "may be penalised before playing or touching the ball if, in the opinion of the referee, no other team-mate in an offside position has the opportunity to play the ball." (Official Rules of Soccer, Appendix 3, Law 11 Diagrams)

well it could have been interference.
think about if the goalie couldn't have gotten the ball. it wouldve been an unfair corner kick.
i wouldve called it.
