  • Nice shots. I have a 550d but am a bit of a noob. Can I ask what you use to edit the videos? I seem to have to transcode them before most editing software will accept it but would rather take them straight off the SD card into and editing package. Thanks.

  • The files off the camera work in Premier Pro cs4 on the PC. I don't know about MAC and Final Cut...

  • Hey, nice shots. I have couple lenses of nikon for my d70s and want to buy the Canon 550D , wich adapter do you use? How much is that? Is only one for all lenses or you should have one for each nikon lens?

    Thanks a lot.

  • thanks for the comment. I was using cheap adapters off eBay, one on each lens (I cannot remember exact model). They work fine optically. However they are not as robust as more expensive branded adapters. If I was going to use this combination a lot commercially I would properly buy better build quality adapter/adapters.

  • does it pause during video mode?

  • I don't think you can. If you are only shooting short clips you can stop and start it again quite quickly.

  • Great shots. When you attach Nikon lenses to your Canon using an adapter, do features like autofocus still work?

  • why is the contrast so high?

  • what format does the video from this cam shoot in :)?

  • With the adapter does it have AF?

  • @gh1TestFootage The footage works superb with iMovie and final cut, can be a bit glitchie iniMovie if you dont have the newest update.

  • @MoraliTea

youll need to buy an adapter

  • @rdks2123 manual focus is better

  • @RubenDelight Shoots in MOV, cheers

  • Does 550d use nikon lenses? (im novice)

  • Excellent video-

I'm considering going the Nikon route on the 550d myself. The one thing I'm weary about is how Nikon has the counter-intuitive rack focus. Was this something that bothered you, or did you get used to it rather quickly?
