I believe these are Matsutake mushrooms, but I'm not sure. Does anybody have any information? Thank you. No. I cannot find local experts.

  • They remind me of a type of honey fungus but they are slightly different...I just picked Matsutake mushrooms today..so I can only positively tell you what they are not...:)

  • Definitely not Matsutake! I don't know what they are, but likely not edible. I'm not familiar with that area though.

  • If you take good photo including the gills, and maybe take a spore print someone at mushroomobserver Dot O r g will help you out, mycologists and some very knowledgeable people use the site.
