Am I the only one who thinks that Family Guy is a tad overrated? After a while the comedy looks really cheap when they consistently borrow from every show and movie ever created. It ends up not being a joke, more so a retelling. Not as clever or as imaginative as people think.

@Urhoboman5 mmmm after the first series, of course, the ideas begin to run out and use / reuse many clichés. But they result in my opinion, 'above' the level of triviality, maintaining a valuable comic, with their actual cheap contents, also =)

I hate being an American and trying to learn a new language then finding imbecile Americans on a clearly marked "Italian" video of a dubbed American show getting upset over the language not being English. To any English speaking person who's too lazy to just look up the scene in English and take probably no more than 30 seconds, why don't you use that anger towards something a little more productive.... like learning a new language?

How am I dimwitted when

A. Jokes just two decades ago were more original, clever and more intelligent.

B. Family guy doesn't make enough jokes. They make too many REFERENCES!

C. Half of the story is a RETELLING of another story. Intellectually Family Guy is lazy. Especially now. Have you ever watched "Seinfeld", "The critic", "Duckman", "Frasier", "The Jeffersons" etc. FG was okay in the beginning but now it just tries waaay too hard IMO. Deal with it.

Agreed. At the begining the show was alright, but it's getting obvious that they don't have much to any originality. What's funny is that in they show, they are the ones making fun of other shows...
