i can't believe people still drive these things even today. I'd be too embarrassed to even be seen in one despite knowing what we know about the gas tanks. Even being rear ended at 20 mph can cause it to explode, according to crash tests.

Wonderful cars. As the owner of 6 fully restored models, I never tire of them. Utterly reliable, astounding mileage and great power (ignoring my 2.3 auto which is no speed demon though it does provide me with 33mpg). My sister owns a '78 which she got for her 16th birthday. She's owned it just about 10 years now and always loves driving it ( though it is also 2.3 auto ).

I had a Pinto van with the goldfish bowl side window.

Slow and a total piece of crap. I took care of it but still by 60k miles it was headed for the junkyard.
