The first Metro line in Russia that began to function in Moscow in 1935. The Kurskaya, Komsomolskaya, Revolution Square and other stations, designed in the 1930s-1950s by the country's best architects, are regarded now as architectural monuments. The name of "underground palaces" of Moscow befits these magnificent architectural structures decorated with a truly fabulous luxury. Today the Moscow Metro has twelve lines with an overall length of 275.6 kilometres and numbers of 170 stations.
