people who have hermit crabs in decorative shells rarely shove them into the shell. they just leave shells that are decorated and larger than the crabs current shell in its enclosure for it to pick from. Wanna know how I know? I had some as pets when I was younger.

Every video they used (especially the last one) weren't sad videos. Hermit crabs are extremely picky about shells and while keeping them you must provide several choices for them. The last video was a pet video, the crab was not forced out of his shell. I have owned hermit crabs for years, they aren't victims in the least. They are actually pretty tough (I have the pinch marks to prove it!)

@harliezB crabs aren't forced out of their shells all of a sudden. they have a period of time to choose, and YES, they DO sort through everything. Animals are meticulous, unlike people. stop fucking imagining what a person would do, animals aren't lazy fucks, their lives are on the stake. And just because a beach has trash doesn't mean that all the shells magically dissapeared, seriously, use your head.

@memoryalicia The video of the Asian guy SHOVING the crab into a crappy plastic shell was sad. For him and the crab. So was the cage piled full of them. They aren't meant to live in such a small environment with such close quarters even if it's just until someone buys them.

If a beach is COVERED in trash do you really think a hermit crab is going to spend all day sorting through it unprotected to find itself a nice little home, or do you think it's going to grab the least shittiest thing it finds to protect it's little innards. If someone shows you three piles of garbage and asks you which is your favorite, does that mean you LOVE that pile of shit? or does it mean it was the best choice of what you had?.

There are worse videos, it's stupid that these foreign people have to do this for a living, forcing hermit crabs into shells, piling them on top of one another, shipping them out of their natural environment, and worst of all abusing them as they do this. If you disagree, FUCK YOU!
