Hey, I have a Tele made by Cruiser (by Crafter) so a pretty cheap guitar. My band plays really heavy music and instead of buying a 7-string I was wondering whether it would be worth buying a Piledriver to put in the bridge and then drop tuning. Would it sound ok? Also, amp-wise I have a Whitehorse 120w amp but no pedals or anything.

Dude - that sounded great - I loved the P90 in the neck - hope it sounds as good at the bridge - it takes confidence to start cutting holes in your new guitar - seriously great tone - what stomp where you using for your drive tone towards the end of the clip if you dont mind me asking? Thanks for a great video S.P. from the UK.

@slugpumper1 That was a demo of a little Vox amp that I sold. Plugged straight in. Footswitch was clean / drive, then had to manually push a button on the amp for drive 2. The pickup was actually a bridge pickup, so now everything is where it's supposed to be.... and I haven't had the urge to change it again... which is rare. I like this guitar the best out of my 3 main ones: Gretsch Setzer Hot Rod, Gretsch Pro Jet (which has also undergone a multitude of changes, and this Highway 1 Teli.

Man, absolutely amazing sweet tone from both those badboys. I'm gonna do the exact same mod with my tele...Thanks for sharing the vibe.

@lamf37 Have already changed it up yet again... It turns out that the Mississippi Queen was a bridge pickup. Now the Tele sports a Texas Special in the neck, a Tex Mex in the middle and the MQ in the bridge. She now has "Nashville" 5 way switching and a different (6 saddle) bridge to accommodate the humbucker sized P90.
