Etappe/Stage 1 2009 GORE-TEX® Transalpine-Run

Um 10:00 Uhr haben sich in Oberstdorf 250 Zweierteams auf den Weg gemacht. Die erste Etappe der heuer genutzten Westroute führt das Starterfeld von Deutschland aus in den neuen Etappenort Lech am Arlberg (AUT) und ist im Vergleich zu den Jahren zuvor äußerst knackig. 35,03 Kilometer und 2,543 Höhenmeter müssen überwunden werden und haben damit laut Streckenchef Wolfgang Pohl „nichts mit Einlaufen zu tun. Da geht es richtig zur Sache!

At 10 AM, 250 teams of two have entered the fifth edition of the Alps crossing running event. The first stage of this years western routing brings the teams from Germany into the new stage town Lech am Arlberg (AUT) and is therefore compared to the years before extremely hard. 35.03 kilometres and 2,543 metres of elevation gain have to be mastered and are according to race director Wolfgang Pohl everything but an easy warm-up as it gets straight to the nitty-gritty!
