  • This movie definitely ranks in my top 5 of all time. Some of the best war cinematography I have ever witnessed.

  • @mogilligan Both Russia and America agreed to hold elections on both sides of the peninsula for the Korean people to decided who shall become their new leader. But this did not work and the Korea's became separated into two different countries (North and South as we know it today). On June 25th 1950, with the approval and aid from Stalin, the North Koreans invaded the South to unify the entire peninsula under one flag and under the ideas of Communism.

  • @mogilligan Well the Korean war can be traced to the tensions that was rising around the world between two sides; those who embraced Communism as an economic and political system and those who took on capitalism. Korea was a colony of Japan for about 35 years (Forced into annexation in 1910) and when Japan surrendered to the allies, Russia occupied the northern half of the Korean peninsula while the Americans occupied the southern part (38th parallel was the dividing line).

  • the part that gets me is when he finds his brothers skeleton when he's like 70

  • could someone give me some background on this war? i havent seen the movie but i think will because of this one scene. unfortunately i know nothing about the war and am curious

  • just thinking about this movie brings tears to my eyes. *true story* undoubtedly, it's the best war movie ever, a great pun between love and war. :')

  • My dad was a spec ops operatives and this is the very scene that i saw for the first time ever in my whole life my dad tears pouring down. This is by far the best anti war movie i've ever seen.
