Xbox 360 FIXED - 0102 - Working for Years!

*UPDATE Nov 2010*
It was noted to me that the Xbox has recently broken down due to a disk drive malfunction. It has survived for quite some time with the GPU trick and it was only a matter of time before one of the other red light errors would pop up... This Xbox is now torn down for parts for other projects. Thanks for the views and comments everyone.

*UPDATE*
X-BOX is officially extending their warranty to three years. Anyone who had their Xbox fixed and had to pay money to have it fixed will get reimbursed (if you're still within the 3 year warranty period).

Ben's 360 that had a decently warped mobo, and the GPU had poor solder connections. Fixed with mounts on bottom of motherboard (rather than just sitting on X-clips) and heatgunned GPU chip. Then remounted heatsinks with proper AS5 application. Had foil under GPU heatsink to begin with. Very poor heat transfer from that. 0102 Three red light error code. Works after fix. Modded with 12v fan.

omg DONT put your xbox on a carpet but if you still doin it just STAND it on a carpet when u let ur box lie on a carpet or stuff like that its no wonder that the xbox overheads dumpasses the box got on BOTH sides a venting man and when the box is lying on the one side the hot air cant get out on one of two sides... u can follow ?

@Wanksta1991 - Lots of people also like putting the xbox in an entertainment stand, where there is very little air travel. The best placement for the xbox is an open area with plenty of ventilation, or, if you are required by the old lady to have it in the entertainment stand, at least blow a fan on it to pass the air through. I accidentally left my xbox on two nights ago after watching a Netflix movie and my room was toasty-warm the next morning. Walked out of my room into a cold house...

@halo3fan95 Thats nothing my xbox stopped working when I got call of duty black ops. Literally the second I get home from the midnight launch to play it, the xbox red rings. Then my computer got a nasty virus and wouldn't let me get onto it, then on top of that my cable box stopped working and my nephew spilled soda onto my PS3 so it won't play anymore itself and my dog chew up the cables for my wii. This all happen within the same day too! If I didnt have bad luck I would have no luck at all!
