Nick Drake - Day is done (guitar lesson - step by step)

This is a video lesson for the great song Day is Done by Nick Drake from the Five Leaves Left album.

This lesson is intended for all you Nick Drake fans who are, like myself, beginner guitarists who can't handle much of Nicks picking and don't know much about alternative tunings.

I made it a bit easier too (possible to pick with only thumb and index finger), so this is not exactly how Nick plays it, but the sound comes close.

As stated " this is not exactly how Nick plays", if you want the exact thing see the tab at Ultimate Guitar.

Thank you so much, man.. the only thing I would say is refer to each finger as "finger 1", "finger 2", etc as opposed to "ring", "middle", "index".. it gets a bit confusing. Not impossible to get used to though : )

Thanks, this was a really nice introduction into playing the songs of my favourite artist. I am looking to find an official tab book also, so that I can start a Nick Drake act, just need a violinist and singer now.

I have no idea if there are any official tabbooks, but mostly all tabs (and good ones) can be found on the algonet site. I can't post urls here ... but search for "iguana nick drake" and its the first one you'll find :)

after the c chord i use my thumb on the bas snare. its much easier.
