They are difficult to understand, yes. But if you look at the cold, hard, observable facts, it's pretty obvious that there is something deeply serious and complex hiding behind eating disordered behaviours - they are NOT based on vanity or attention-seeking. And notice how I don't even mention food in this video? It's because eating disorders don't have that much to do with food either.

SO sorry this is late, I've had a random strike of insomnia so I'm making this at like 2am - hey, better late then never! Yes, I am making this directly from my bed where I was asleep a couple of hours ago, and I look it xD Maybe turn the sound up and then just close the window and look at something nicer lol

  • I loved this video. You made some great points in a very clear and articulate manner -- despite the insomnia :). Having struggled with an eating disorder myself for two years, I recognized what you described as the typical misunderstandings around EDs.

Since you mentioned suffering from depression, could you make a similar video explaining what it's like to have depression "to someone who just doesn't get it"? My parents would greatly benefit :)

  • great explanation. love your vids ♥

  • Your videos are so helpful! Engaging in eating disordered behavior is a fairly new thing for me. I have been self injuring for few years, without any eating problems then it just seemed to come out of no where. I don't know if I have an "eating disorder" but probably am on my way. I'm working up the courage to tell my therapist about it but I'm scared she won't take me seriously given that I'm only slightly underweight. I keep having to remind myself that weight is irrelevant and you don't have
