No one is "taking advantage" here. If you are caught without a valid US drivers license, your car can be impounded.

It should be against the law to impound a vehicle and keep it for a mandatory thirty days. A license driver should be able to retrieve the vehicle W/ necessary docs. Keeping the vehicle makes it difficult for immigrants to get their vehicle out and beside they could use that money to obtain a drivers license. For those of you who are so quick to judge, just keep in mind that not all immigrants in our country are here illegally. Where is your compassion?

Also...The OPG tow yard will NOT release the car to him without current DMV documentation. One more scum bag off the streets. Hey HARLY...I Recently spent 11 days driving in Italy and guess what. COMMON SENSE TELLS YOU TO GET A TEMP INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS LICENSE...it means that with the co-operation of the CA DMV and the DMV in Italy i can drive on their country roads without any problems AT ALL. Why do you people take the sides of these social parasites?...They are nothing but a financial burden to everyone. I say great...Impound the car for 30 days. Its not insured or registered in his name.
