On Legionnaire, it's acceptable. Armadon sure, but to a lesser extent. The majority of damage in a competitive teamfight is magical, so the damage block isn't so great.

Just a question. If helm of the black legion is a bad item whats a good early item for survivabiliy? fort braclets?

I personally find that basic stat boosters like Fort Bracelets are the second best. First best is Enhanced Marchers!
