@LeftLaneClosedVideos Now, you could go a step further than a public option, and actually do a medicare for all or single payer system. And then it gets even worse! With goverment insuring everybody, big pharma plus hosiptals can feel free to raise their costs to whatever they feel like KNOWING the goverment will HAVE TO PAY. Just like education and just like medicare, the costs will skyrocket but even more.
-getting goverment completley OUT is the only real answer.
-
@LeftLaneClosedVideos No it doesnt. Damn, I have to teach progressives basic economics again. The goverment creating their own insurance plan does nothing but drive costs up even more. The pharma plus hospitials, plus medical equipment comapnies start doubling their costs knowing the govt insurance will pay. THe other insurance companies will raise their levels only to the govt levels. So you see, a public option wouldnt do a damn thing about costs.
-
@calimar28 Well the public option creates competiton, which is capitolistic.
If you hate progressives soo much, why are you here.
-
@LeftLaneClosedVideos Public options drive costs UP! Whenever goverment gets involved, costs skyrocket. Doctor vists are cheap in 1961. Anyone can afford to go to the hospital. But after Medicare is passed, costs TRIPLE!
-Same with education. College tuition is cheap in 1958. 300 dollars a quarter for medical school! Even by 1958 standards, 300 is cheap. In the 60's goverment begins doing loans and grants. Costs of tuition more than quadruple in just 3 years!
Sorry, progrssevism is a fail
-
@calimar28 the public option would drive costs down, without it prices will go wild, because it forces businesses to compete with government run healthcare. Woah! gov. run healthcare?! well yes, but people who want it pay into it, no federal funding, the money comes from the people who freely choose to be a part of it, so why is it so damn bad?
-
@LeftLaneClosedVideos Because when the federal govt gets involved, even on an "insurance basis", it will DRIVE UP HEALTHCARE COSTS. Healthcare was fairly cheap...until the govt got involved in the 1960's...then healthcare care skyrocketed.
Same with education...it was cheap to get a degree 50 years ago. But when govt got involved and started with loans and grant, the cost skyrocketed so bad, that now it is 200,000 for a bachlors degree.
Govt drives up costs.

@calimar28 The public option was the one thing that made healthcare desireable. Sure there are good things in it now, but without the option, it allows healthcare companies to create a monopoly which makes everything cost more. Which makes republicans happy because healthcare companies get more money so no public option=FAIL for both me and you, why wouldnt you want a public option..
-
No Public option yes!!!!!!
You libs start talking about stopping illegals, and even most legal immigration, and we can start talking about public options. Until then, FORGET IT
