Another medley by Fats Waller: I'm Crazy 'bout my Baby / Tea For Two / Believe it, Beloved. The last medley i uploaded seemed to be something of a rarity. Has anyone heard this one before? Again its a basic upload..

  • This discs were first re-issued in the 70s by French RCA on their famous Black and White jazz anthology series and have since been re-issued by other companies. I've got a full re-issues that includes outttakes. There were 2 sets of sessions, one in 1935 and one in 1939.

  • This is just so good. Tea for two intro is a work of art, unsurpassed!

  • I find that these were recorded for Muzak Corporation in 1935 on slower speed long playing transcription discs intended for background or "dial-a-disc" entertainment. No wonder that Fats was on his best behaviour. Hughes Panassie (well known jazz critic) wrote "These discs are the only ones in which I can clearly hear his true vocal timbre with both the warmth and tenderness so frequently missing from his recordings". Hear hear Hugh.

  • I bought my first Fats Waller record in 1949, "Ain't Misbehaving" on a 12" HMV and have loved and collected him ever since. I'm sure I never heard these medleys but they are simply great! Thank you so much.
