1989 Farm Fresh

Before Farm Fresh fell into the pits in the early 90s and before they were rescued in the mid to late 90s by Super Valu.

Who was this guy in the commercials? He was in them until the Super Valu takeover I think. Also, never understood the "sweet Virginia breeze" jingle at the end of every farm fresh commercial.

I miss that Farm Fresh Uniform. I actually worked at Farm Fresh in 2008 and we had to wear polo shirts and black pants :P

Oh cool. I was born and raised in Norfolk for a while, then later moved to VA. Beach and lived there until 2003. Hampton Roads was a truly great place to live!

Sweet Virginia Breeze was going through the state house to be the official state song at the time and was getting much publicity. The song was actually recorded in a small studio called Candy Apple Studios across from a Farm Fresh. I was at the recording session. I love the song and it was VERY close to being the official state song of Virginia but was beat by a very small margin.

I was born and raised in Hampton Roads and always shopped at Farm Fresh with my family. Very good store with an excellent salad bar I used to love!
