  • i'd convert to get a group too....

fortunately for me, i don't really have your issues, and there's plenty of atheists here, so i don't have to pretend i believe in stuff just to get friends.

but from your position, yeah, it seems like a reasonable thing to do.

  • @De4sher I converted into something I pretended to believe, now I have honest faith over time. Thank you for respecting my opinion. You're an atheist, but you are however a friend of mine

  • @De4sher Just sent ya a PM, rather long but it does cover my story Hope it helps ya out

  • Being accepted into a group is no reason to stay in a religion. What matters is your personal feelings about the beliefs upheld in that religion. Any religion offers community to some extent.

  • @BlueFireWitch I slowly began to realize that I began to believe, this was a month ago. Now that I actually have waded a little longer into the faith I truly believe in it. What sparked it was in fact the community and acceptance however.

  • Dude you can join a club or a team, you don't have to scrape and bow to meet people.

  • @ByronGiant Oh I know, but he asked why I did it and I'm not one to lie. Plus I actually am starting to becoming more extroverted already. :)

  • That makes no sense, how can someone "decide" to be an Atheist or a Theist? It sounds more to me like you're just acting like an atheist, or acting like a theist. doing what you think they're supposed to do. What do YOU yourself really believe? Do you really believe there's a god, or do you not really believe there's a god?

  • @snakebitgoat so how does that faith thing work?

how does it build up over time?

if you'd like to share your story in a private message, i'd love to read it.... i mean it's not every day that i see an intelligent person convert from something to anything else, much less from non-theism to theism.

these things tend to be epicly interesting.

  • Good stuff, man. I'm glad to see it's doing something for you.

  • Scrape and bow? What you talkin bout Byron?
