Pere Casaldàliga i Pla, more known as Pedro Casaldáliga (born 1928) is a Catalan-born emeritus Brazilian Bishop of São Felix do Araguaia (Brazil). He is one of the most known practitioners of Liberation Theology. He has received numerous awards, including the International Catalunya Prize (2006). Well known for his work in support of indigenous peoples, he has published at least ten volumes of poetry. He was being promoted as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize 1992.

Reportatge filmat el 1992 sobre en Pere Casaldàliga, català nascut al poble de Balsareny el 16 de febrer de 1928. Des del 1972 va exercir de bisbe de l'església catòlica de São Felix do Araguaia, al Mato Grosso (Brasil). Va ser promogut com a candidat per al Premi Nobel de la Pau 1992.
"Només des dels pobres es pot construir la pau vertadera, que és 'fruit de la justícia'. Poden callar les armes, però si no paren de cridar la injustícia, l'opressió, la dependència, el deute extern; i la fam, la mortalitat infantil, la marginació de la immensa majoria dels humans...
La pau és sinònim de justícia, i un sinònim de la solidaritat.
Una justícia i una solidaritat no sols interpersonals, sinó planetàries, internacionals i intercontinentals. Mentre hi hagi Primer Món no hi haurà pau. El tercer Món ja és la guerra mundial estructurada econòmicament i políticament. Només hi haurà pau quan no hi hagi més que un món humanament fratern."
