Bruce Lee once said that practicing forms without a live opponent there is completely pointless and in fact, harmful. you need to learn how to adapt to an opponents movements. practicing forms without an opponent there does not help you at all.
again, these are Bruce's words, not mine. I dont do karate, i do judo. which is completely different. so im not gonna pretend i know much about karate. i just wanted to grace you with the words of a world renowned martial artist

what kind of ryu is the olympic karate?
which pat of the kata was kali?
He has a stick, but to call this kali......hmmm
As far as I know karate might become an olímpic sport for 2012. Why, did they cancel taekwando? or will they mix it, and add wushu to it as well?

I'd like to see him fight in a UFC fight

Sensei Josh is really good! I go to karate there and he teaches you how to do a Kata or move properly. Keep up the good work Josh!!

his movement needs to be way more swift and sharp

Nice video!
Olympic Karate is a kempo school. What Sensei Josh is demonstrating here is a kata for the Little Dragons Class (4-6 yr olds) he slowed it down so parents would be able to watch this and then help their kids practice at home. I am a parent of a former little dragon at the school and my son no longer goes to Olympic Karate. I wish them no ill will, my son has just decided to move on to Aikido. Josh is a great teacher and is excellent with the little dragons.
