Hey guys, this project was done for my 2nd year Honors Seminar Class at FIU. We are playing the game, "Reacting to the Past", and our game is of the French Revolution. The events are not historically accurate, as they are "in-game". This was an interview of the "3 leaders" of France at this point in the game. Comte d' Artois (King Louis's brother) has proclaimed himself as the new king of France. The national assembly has split, and the nation is divided. The anti-revolutionaries stand with the monarchy and the Royal Court. The Revolutionaries stand with their president Condorcet. This interview was right in the middle of this invasion of foreign forces, and tries to shed some light on the situation.

Oh and please read the disclaimers in the credits.

  • We know who was divinely chosen to the throne, we know who has proclaimed they are the supreme leader, and we know who was democratically elected to serve.

But who will ultimately hold the throne and bring France back into greatness? Only time will tell Reacting to the Past at FIU

  • Everyone claims their right to the throne in some way, but who is ultimately right?

This video also shows human bias. The video was recorded and written by a member of the Royal Court, so of course he would have his interviews be favorable towards his party. No man (or woman) can claim to be unbiased, because as soon as a man perceives a thought, he has rendered his interpretation on it, marking his thought or impression of the idea.

  • We stand at a time where not only is there the threat of foreign invasion, but our own country is divided.

The questions I ask the leaders try to shed some insight on the different points of view. I try to show that everyone thinks they are the supreme and legitimate leader. What they fail to realize is that having the nation divided will only lead to more weakness. All we have accomplished is show our country and surrounding nations we are stubborn and insensible.
