This is an animated gif of a series of NEXRAD radial velocity images from the Binghamton, NY radar station. These images show a mass exodus of, presumably, Red-winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles distributing from the marshes of the Northern Montezuma Wetlands Complex in Upstate New York. Red blob is moving North. Green blob is moving south. The additional green blob West of the North end of Cayuga Lake is presumably a distribution of birds from roost sites near the North end of Seneca Lake. Very interesting.
