  • Yeah, I filed down the safety leg just a tiny bit, and everything works fine. I was thinking about doing a video on the whole comp hammer install, but if I had filmed myself doing it last night it would have been a 3+ hour video. LOL! I was very careful and filed down the leg on the sear so that I only removed the amount needed for the safety to function. Theres a teeny tiny spring in the sear group that will fly out. I know because it hit me in the eye. This vid helped me a lot. Thanks!

  • @TheAngryvikingman No worries. I'm trying to post a video of that as we speak...

  • Yeah, I'm having a crappy time of trying to put the competition hammer back in. My pins are all flush, just having a hard time with the safety. Supposedly, you can just about drop it into a SP-01. I wish there was a better source of info on this. Is there something I need to file down to make it fit better. I have a complete set of tools, so I can do any work needed.

  • @TheAngryvikingman You need to fit the safety or sear. I modify the safety for "safety" reasons. I work down the part that activates with the sear. As for the hammer pins, a starter pin punch fro CZcustom helps. Also a nice vice to hold everything down.

  • The SP-01 has the same teardown except for the ones with the ambi-safety. There is a really small piece that fits in on the opposite side somewhat like the plunger that holds the other side of the safety in. Be VERY VERY careful not to lose it. When it fell out I was like "OH SHIT! What just broke?!?" I found out what it was and replaced it. I'm going to install my competition trigger tonight, any hints?

  • @TheAngryvikingman Be careful with the right hammer. They are different for the decocker and SA/DA model. I spent 5 hours today and found that out. :-(
