It's no different than a double steal, which is much more common. Each runner is awarded a stolen base on the play...there is no way you can challenge both runners, attempting to steal, with a throw. Not to mention the fact that each runner was awarded a stolen base by the official scorer...in my book, and the official scorer's book, it's a triple steal.

A pitch doesn't count as a "throw" so no, it's not an advance-on-the-throw play. It is a triple steal. By your logic, anytime a runner steals second, or third, on a pitch would be an "advance on the throw".

I love this play, but (and thumb down all you want for this but it's the truth) this is not a triple steal. It's a stealing of home (which is exciting in its own right and awesome here) and two other runners advancing on the throw. Completely different then just a straight up triple steal where all runners take off at the same time.

This play took bigtime guts for gomez to call on his own. To have that kind of gametime presence of mine and you are only 20 years old is something special. This is easily one of the top 100 greatest sports plays of all time. I feel sorry for teams that will have to play vanderbilt in the regionals.
