This was Columbia's answer to the Victor Salon Orch. Chaminade's Scarf Dance performed by the Columbia Symphony Orch. in 1928. conducted by Robert Hood Bowers. Bowers (1877-1941) was a conductor and composer of many songs and musical plays.

  • Pas des écharpes, no 3 of the 5 Airs de Ballet, by Mme Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944). This was opus 37, from 1888.

    I wonder what the 4 other morceaux were like.

  • Chaminade's original piano version played by Hans Barth on Victor (early electric) is a favorite of mine. What year is mine?
