Earth's atmosphere consists of:- Nitrogen - 78.084% Oxygen - 20.95% Argon - 0.934% Carbon Dioxide - 0.036% Neon - 0.0018% Helium - 0.0005% Methane - 0.00017% Hydrogen - 0.00005% Nitrous Oxide - 0.00003% Ozone - 0.000004% At 0.036% CO2 is a trace gas and unlikely to have any effect on climate! Instead CO2 is vital for the survival of plants which may not survive if CO2 is further reduced THE END OF PLANTS = THE END OF US. Further info, learn the carbon cycle - EDUCATE YOURSELVES!

@yogbert Actually the combined effect of the green house gases has been known about for over a century. I am afraid your statement about CO2 having no effect on global temperature is just nonsense. Without these gases the temperature of the Earth would on average be 33degC lower!

@hopeintruth1 That's right. The combined effect of the greenhouse gases including the now0.0392% of CO2, is around 33deg C. Google "wiki greenhouse gases" for more information. Without these gases planet earth would have a climate similar to the moon with extremes of up to 123deg during the day and -233deg at night. The bulk of the atmosphere,Nitrogen and Oxygen, do not have these greenhouse properties.
