Guoten is the final boss you face, and only on EXPERT mode. I was disappointed in seeing it personally, as I wished the game had Baragon, Titanosaurus, Hedorah (oh man would the Smog Monster have kicked some serious ass in this game!) or even Kumonga or King Seesar. Oh well. The Guoten appeared in the Toho film ATRAGON and was renamed the Atragon in Godzilla: Final Wars. It was of course controlled by Don Frye.

Although I don't particularly care for Guoten's existence in Godzilla: Kaijuu Dai Kessen (the game's full proper name) I do LOVE the stage! Look at how pretty the clouds are -- they seem to stretch on for days and that's how I like 'em. It gives you a real sense of being there... =)

Also note the specks of sun rays peeking through the horizon. Gorgeous stage. Would rather fight Ebirah though, but you know. =P

  • was this played on the computer(by ROM) or played on SNES, because I cant find this game anywhere for SNES.

  • Keep looking on eBay, once in a while this game pops up. It is for Super Famicom (Japanese SNES) so you may want to put "Godzilla Super Famicom" on eBay.

  • That ship is in the godzilla final wars movie

  • Yup, renamed the Atragon. Manned by one, Don Frye =D

  • Was that a ship?

  • Some sort of ship, yeah.

  • 1) I know you can unlock Atragon and Super MechaG in vs mode somehow, and there's a code, but I'm playing this game on ZSNES and I can't do it... help please?

    2) Why would you want to fight Ebirah as a final boss...

  • Isn't that Atragon from the movie Atragon?

  • Just to set the record straight:

Gouten/Gohten is the ship from War in Space. Atragon was originally called Gotengo, named Atragon in the dub, and since the Final Wars team either didn't know this or didn't care, Don Frye (and the dubbers and the subtitles) all refer to "Atragon" by it's original name Gotengo in GFW.

Nobody ever called Atragon "Gohten," that's a different ship from a different movie. Similar, but different.

  • I know your comment is two years old, but I'll respond anyways.

It is both Goten and Gotengo. Go, like -Maru, is apparently applied to the end of a name to imply that it is a water going vessel of some sort. I don't know if Go is retained soley for military ships of certain types or what, but that is what I've been told. As such, Gotengo is still actually Goten, just with a proper suffix of some sort dabbed on to the end of it.

  • i want thise game toooo LOL

  • Yeah it was awesome.

  • it is a pian

  • That little battleship looks like it can be a large pain.

  • This game plays very well actually, in my opinion its better than the new godzilla fighting games we have on xbox and ps2.

  • He did kill aliens with the sword.
