This is my Gravely model D garden tractor. I found this tractor laying on it's side in my neighbor's barn. I think it had been sitting there for about 30 or 40 years. A little clean up and it runs great!

  • This is a dandy! I've read about this unit but never seen one running. Are the handles wooden? Were there other implements besides the cultivator?

  • The handles are made of wood. I know there was a reel mower attachment and a sickle bar mower attachment. I'm sure there were other tillage tools besides the cultivator also.

  • Thanks for sharing. I've never seen or heard one of these D types working before.

  • It's very, very hard to find a model D that runs. Mine is the only one I've ever heard run and I've been in the hobby for 30 years!

  • Is the drive wheel all metal? It looks to be. If so the cleats for traction look like they are facing in the wrong direction for a machine that pushes.

  • The cleats are facing the right way. If they were facing the other way, they would just clog with dirt and you would have a smooth wheel. They are self cleaning the way they are now.

  • Real nice running like a Champ Thanks for sharing

  • I have one of these old Gravely Model D tractors in my barn. My father had it running about 10 years ago. It looks to be in about the same condition as the one in this video except the wooden handles on mine are quite brittle (she's old!) and it don't have any inplements with it.

Thanks for posting this great video! It was good to hear one of these run again!
