The Gaijin Guide travels to Shinjuku and Kabuki Cho. Come take a look at Japan and its urban metropolis.

Shinjuku (新宿区) is home to the world's busiest railway station (seeing over 2 million passengers a day), some of Tokyo's tallest buildings, and the Metropolitan Government Office, which has two observation floors that offer stunning views of the metropolis and are free to the public. Other notable sights and stops in this ward are the gigantic department and discount electronic stores including Yodobashi Camera. Also located right around Shinjuku Station is KabukiCho.

Kabukicho (歌舞伎町) is a red-light district, which houses many hostess bars, host bars, and love hotels. It is also a major shopping, restaurant, and nightclub area as well. The district's name comes plans to build a kabuki theater on is present spot in the late-1940s. Though the theater was never built, the name stuck.

  • Seems you felt the need to show your face more than the actual country you were supposed to be blogging. I'm confused, iss this about Tokyo or you?

The city speaks for itself, so.. really, you don't have to.

  • The vlogs I made 2 years ago were more of a visual diary so I could look back and remember the places I have been and things I have done. The weren't tailored for some random viewers entertainment, though they are welcome to watch them.

If the city "speaks for itself", why are you watching videos about it?

  • o_O ... looking for a guide who can offer some deeper insights to the city, hidden gems etc, not a *ahem* guide who seems has not even scratched the surface.

  • Buy a guide book or go live there. Don't look for it all in a free 6 min video

  • did you pay somethintg to enter the building? The view is really awesome!

  • The best part is that it is free :) There are two towers and you can go up top until about 11pm. The night view is really great I just went up again about 4 weeks ago. There isn't a better night view of Tokyo as far as I'm concerned.

  • Tch... who's asking for 'it all'? 6 mins is plenty to show just one thing of mere interest.

I suggest removing the word 'guide' from your title.

  • This is a 30 second visit to Kabukicho that's kind of funny.

    Just search Youtube for

    Erik visits Tokyo, Japan (Hilarious!!)

  • The probably took the sex massage and recorded. I think I saw your face on youporn.

  • fail XD, tokyo is the biggest city in the world lol

  • @signumtimelord true, but i think that only goes for Tokyo. I went to Sapporo for a few weeks, and there it wasnt all that bad.

  • @signumtimelord So why don't YOU do better. All I see on your site is some useless quite stuff and a group of puke dunks being loud. Doesn't seem like you're even trying, yet you have the nerve to criticize and insult someone who is for no reason at all. Does the anonymity of the Internet just bring out the rude troll in you? If you don't like it, don't watch. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all?

  • when I was there I saw lots of fanboys just like you in their late teens, early 20s acting all cool, everyone thinking they were hip just cause they came to a big city. Terrible.... nerds and pestering people all flock to the rumoured Japan, should have known...

  • Bah, this video sucked. Like one poster already said, why show your face all the time? Second, typical american arrogance attitude style, mixed with the shallow japanese tokyoism it gets really bad.

Last month I went to Shinjuku and Kabukicho and it wasnt a big deal at all, might look nice on the surface but when you get there, its BORING not worth the money dont be fooled people.

  • there is more people in tokyo than what there is in all of Australia lol
