  • THEY'RE REPULSIVE!! Totally gross! COOL!! Yuck!!... SICK!! lol

  • EWW!! THAT'S SO GROSS I ALMOST THREW UP LITERALLY!!!

  • Of course, the Killer Tomatoes crowd proudly "borrowed" from many sources - but I don't recall seeing anybody point out Madballs as a possible source. Curiously, Marvel also produced the KT animated series on TV, which featured the characters from the 2nd movie, as well as talking ugly tomatoes, and came out the same year as the 3rd KT movie... so maybe Marvel had a hand in the cross-pollinization, taking ideas from one project and applying them to another - it wouldn't be the first time

  • So you were right. I wonder if perhaps the KT people thought they could market ugly face tomatoes (didn't they try to market FTs?). And it would appear that if they were "inspired" by Madballs, the inspiration didn't end there: Marvel created a Madball comic book series. It began in 1986. The main villains of the comic were Dr. Frankenbeans, who was in many ways similar to Victor Frankenstein, and his bumbling assistant Schnivelitch, who was similar to Igor. KTs introduced Dr. Gangreen in 88.

  • @metal220 well, since somebody cares enough about this to respond, I did some research..According to IMDB, the first KT movie was 1978, but the tomatoes didn't have faces, they were just smooth. The next KT movie was in 1988, and featured smooth tomatoes that transformed into humans, and introduced FT (Fuzzy Tomatoe). 1991's Killer Tomatoes Strike Back was the first to have tomatoes with ugly faces, as did Killer Tomatoes Eat France in 1992. Wikipedia says Madballs came out in the mid-80s.

  • @mattlove1 thought madballs was from the 80s and killer tomatateos from the early 90s????

  • lol I like how they use too say "YOU WANT THIS"

  • they look somewhat like the killer tomatoes in the 3rd and 4th movies of the series. Anybody know which came first?

  • Though calling them "Madballs" doesn't seem very PC... I think they prefer "Psychologically-inept Testicle-Americans".

  • Hope they don't POP...
