I discovered this stuff growing up in the 80's. While everybody else was listening to Michael Jackson and Madonna, we were listening to The Who, Stones and the Kinks. So glad we knew better.

I think that society, both in the east and the west, is going through a bit of a rough time. We are experiencing the hardships of poverty and war.

However, I feel that someday we humans will eventually learn to recognize ourselves as being equal. We will come together in a society that will bring us to prosperity and, depending on how one sees it, joy.

Still, I do love gazing up at the Milky Way in the open wilderness where there is no light pollution.

That's were your wrong. If you know anything about the Kinks your know Dave Davies (guitarist) felt he never fitted in with modern society hence why you get songs like this. The BBC did a documentary on him not so long ago with him in.

Around 2:24 it sure sounds like Jimmy Buffett, but who am I to make such an accusation. However, it may not be an accusation if indeed this song came out before that stupid Margaritaville bastardization of anything beyond belief.
