I am a lifelong, passionate Duran Duran devotee/archivist in the Pacific Northwest. I recently decided to take my 10+ year relationship to the next level, but I needed Duran Duran by my side for it to happen. Against the backdrop of Duran's Sept. 23rd show at Everett's Comcast Arena, I enlisted the band's help in proposing to my girlfriend Christine. At the right moment, Simon Le Bon produced the ring from his back pocket, declaring he had "something in his arse!" I took it from there, telling Christine that my heart led me to three of the best decisions of my life: 1) to love Duran 2) to love her 3) and to this moment... and then I found myself on bended knee. As Nick Rhodes pointed out later, I was fortunate that Christine responded with a "Yes!" It was a wonderful evening for two new romantics. Many thanks to the band's management, record label, and a local radio station for making it all come together.
