@paddyinpilani I haven't installed Windows 8 on any of my systems yet. I used to install betas of every Microsoft product... but buggy software doesn't make me happy. ;)
I think the USB thumb drive needs to be "bootable". Sometimes the USB port matters a lot, one side may work while the other won't.

Thanks a lot Jesse!! I will be using this to install Windows 8 on my S10-3t using SD card.
I tried using USB adapter for SD card.. But, it failed because it could not find drivers for the adapter..
I will try installing from SD directly today.. Lets hope it works..
Have you tried installing Windows 8 yet?
