Dick should have stayed as batman but maybe what could happen is Damien could leave and decide that he wants to be nightwings partner not batman's and we could see a real struggle between Bruce and Tim Dick and Damien where bruce feels dick has betrayed him as his son (in bound) and stolen his (blood)son, and dick feels like he has given up and demoted himself for bruce and bruce just doesn't understand him, dick returns as nightwing but teaching Damien's how to be a hero and we see Damien rise

@cagedrobin maybe they should kill him. I love Dick Grayson , he's my favorite character, but I feel he's been just a little too abused and passed off (as a character >>) .
though I'm still considering how.....

@cagedrobin i'm not too thrilled about the whole going back to Nightwing thing either. as much as I liked Nightwing...there seems be be a slight sting in the fact that Dick's been tossed around in roles. never really in control of what he does, or what will become of himself. and the moment he does become content, it turns out that things cant remain that way. I don't think he's sane enough for regular life, he's too much like a retired soldier once they send them home they don't know what to do

All the options were good Phil but here's a character that has grow throughout his comic history and it's like the student has become the master. this a complete demotion but I see were they take it
maybe they should make Dick react like a human being, and get upset at being demoted.
they should make him get upset if not angry at Bruce. Like mentioned earlier, I really Liked Damien and Dick's relationship, it seemed to me that Dick was more of a real family to Damien than Bruce was ( with him being "dead" and all) and now I feel like they're forcing Bruce and Damien to get along and smooth over their relationship just because Bruce is his real father.

@cagedrobin Good points. I remember saying 2 some1 that said 2 me... that Dick liked being Nitewing, and never wanted 2 be a new Batman in the 1st place, I responded with; Sometimes its not about what a character wants, sometimes its about the "greater good", & that's my reasoning 4 his becoming and remaining Batman.
Like u, I also thought about the potential death of the character, but DC's track record 4 not letting a character remain dead is al most as bad as Marvel's! That's the reason....

@cagedrobin ...I think perhaps making him the new Oracle, while not ideal, might be the best way 2 go w/ him, but that's just me!

Since DC is having the Reboot. Why not rebuild Bludhaven and show Dick taking revenge on Deathstroke. LOL, he could be the Batman inc rep in Bludhaven.
I too am disheartened immensely. Not only by dc demoting Dick, but they had to make us comfortable with the new dynamic of the dynamic duo.
1. Bruce won't be able to teach Damian about being a true Hero like Dick has been. Theyr''e too similar. no dynamic there.
2. With Dick, we got surprises again, Bruce can get out of any situation.

@Otaku7 i agrre w/u about the lack of dynamism w/ Bruce & Damian, but I'm just not sold on Dick being Nitewing. That said; I do like the Bludhaven/Deathstroke angle.

Yeah...I think u may be the only person that felt more strongly than I did about Dick remaining Batman! I just wanted 2 see what was the next best solution. Personally, I think Nitewing isn't it. But I guess like everyone else...all we can do is wait & see.
Good hearing from u, MVK
