"guys will be guys" is the stupidest argument ever. yea, guys are guys and it doesn't mean they have to act asexual but there's a HUGE difference when it comes to harassment. being a guy is not an excuse for being a creepy pervert. there are plenty of men who are capable of behaving like reasonable human beings.
Its not about a little bit of flirting. Its about HARASSMENT. Very big difference. Harassment is when they are going too far, and making you uncomfortable. Its not about culture either. Everyone has a different comfort limit. If you tell someone what your limit is, they should respect it (no matter where you are). Some people don't mind friendly touching. But me, I don't like anyone (other than my lover) speaking to/touching me in a "sexual" manor AT ALL. And I have a right to that.
U can set boundries with ease. Be honest with ppl, always, share what u're feeling and ppl will be more respectfull. Have a little faith in ppl b4 u take such dramatic actions. There's always a simple way to avoid some situation.
But, yes american ppl r more concerned about that sexual harassment then other people. I've witnessed that. She's right about this particular issue.
Actually no. Sexual harassment is a problem for women all over the world. Just because one can be comfortable with her sexuality does not make it acceptable for men or women to make inappropriate sexual comments, gestures, or flirting in the work place. Work is a place to be professional. Yes you can have fun and be social with your co-workers but once the environment starts to get sexually charged it can lead to all kinds of problems. This is about boundaries and respecting people.
did u know that sexual harassmenr is only a problem in the USA?
Y r u guys so unconfortable with ur sexuality? There's nothing wrong with flerting a little.
Plus, guys will always b guys! they'll flirt with center tables, it's natural. U guys think that touching or hugging is sexual harassment. well... it isn't, it's just a way to express urself.
Now, being squeezed against the wall and having ur boss feeling u up, THAT is a real problem.
sexually harassing women is half the fun of being at work
