I have one of these, it is pretty nice although it would be nice to have a larger battery and an option to use it directly off of the household current.(only charges via USB)

As for sound it is pleasant , just do not expect it to have booming bass, it does play quite loud with little distortion and is not "tinny" sounding at all. To sum it up, do not expect this to replace your clock radio, but it does sound better than most cheap clock radios.
