I don't quite get why his statement is so bad.. It's been proven in development economics when gov't-to-gov't transfer doesn't work - eg, foreign aids (state-to-state) vs. remittance sent by migrants workers to their home countries (individual-to-individual). Firstly, the money never trickles down; it disappears into a bureaucratic blackhole (special interests, unions, corporate contractors being the only beneficiaries of such gov't largess). It's rather sad, liberals never learn.
I'm from Indiana. Mitch's solution to solving budget issues: sell everything the government should be doing to private companies. His administration also threatened to cut off funding to IU if they didn't lower tuition (counter-productive, don't you think?), and he failed--nay, refused to spend any of a big surplus Indiana had this last fiscal year.
The stimulus DID create jobs, whether Daniels WANTS that to be true or not, that's what the fuck happened.
And Bush's tax cuts for the rich saw our economy go from it's best place in the past 30 years to it's worst place in 80 years, whether Daniels WANTS that to be true or not.
MITCH DANIELS, SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. QUIT MISINFORMING THE IDIOTS JUST FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL GAIN.
