This group sounds a lot like Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66, but with a more intense bossa nova mix. A much different take on an old standard covered x-number of times since the release of "Finian's Rainbow."

Nope, Lani was never married to Sergo Mendes. She was single for all of her years with Sergio. However, she quit Brazil 66 to get married to Herb Alpert (who owned A&M Records at the time Brazil 66's recording label). I heard that Sergio was not very happy with this because he lost a great singer and he knew it. Guess I like Grachina so much 'cause I met her backstage after a Brazil 77 concert in San Francisco. What a sweet girl she was and very pretty. Lani is nice also. At age 19 she was hot!
