alot of people have missed the point when watching this documentary. dont view it as a rock band in trouble. view it as 3 people dependant upon a group they have created and are reliant upon who each have their own personal problems in their life that need to be overcome in order for their group to continue

theyr'e humans not gods! they have feelings too, im sure other bands have similar experiences theyr'e just not broadcast in a 2 hour documentary! dont be so closed minded and try to see it from their point of view. for 25 years james had an alcohol problem because it helped him cover up his emotions over his family and cliffs deatch etc then in a matter of a year the beer was taken away and he had to deal with all the problems he was hiding from, any fucker would get emotional over that

how did rob save metallica!? it was phil towle that did alot of the work to help them sort out their problems, rob joined the band after alot of the problems were solved. metallica weren;t falling apart just because they didnt have a bass player. watch the film again!

i dont think you understood the film. its not their egos that 'fucked them up in the head' its problems from when they were younger, even before metallica, that they had suppressed with beer and other things in their lives up until that point. it was obviously james that needed the most help, luckily he got it and continued with the band. the music they created at that time made st. anger what it is. its not a simple rock record. its a gritty and highly emotional album detailing their lives
