Through strength, determination and spirit, these 20 young wheelchair athletes are living proof that nothing is impossible. The youth, ages 10 to 18, are took part in the City's 5th annual USTA/ITF Cruyff Foundation Junior Wheelchair Camp Americas at the Felipe Tennis Center. The camp is the only one of its kind in the nation. The junior wheelchair tennis camp, which is put on by the United States Tennis Association and the International Tennis Federation in partnership with the City, is designed to teach and train advanced to beginner wheelchair-bound juniors on the sport of tennis. Since it began in Mission Viejo four years ago, it has doubled in size and has helped to put this City on the international map. To see these young wheelchair athletes from places like Canada, Mexico and Argentina in action is
inspiring. Their sportsmanship and spirit is second to none. They are learning game techniques from current and former world-ranked wheelchair professionals, Paralympics coaches/athletes and coaches
from the United States Tennis Association. They are having fun and making new friends.
