The material is slit by rotating knives and fed to the cutting length with a NIP-rollers driven by a variable speed motor.
The cross-cutting blades have a self-sharpening scissors action, they do not require setting when changing thickness or type of material being cut.
The bottom blade is fixed while the top blade moves up and down and is pushed towards the bottom one by springs.
Pasquato manufactures also special in-line cutting unit for extrusion plants of PP or PET.

Personally I prefer Slip Bars to Rigid bars for rewinding

1 ) What if the lengths of article differ i.e if its an woven fusible interlining cloth which is 59" of width and now it needs to be cut in 25 mm width each. Each Roll is around 100 Mtrs which needs to be unwinding and then slit to 25 mm and then rewind. But what if this 100 mtrs Roll has 3 cuts ???

2) What about the wastage at both the side i.e selvedges ???
