Jake Shields went up to MW to fight Lawler, Miller, Santiago, Lindland, Jacare etc. He could of just beat up second tier opponents at welterweight and looked really good doing it. Shields and Cooker have said he gets payed the same either way. The UFC WW Division needs Shields.
