@assailant101 not all Filipino use the word baby or infant, I don't even know where that word come from and I am a Filipino other Filipino even use adjustable wrench "crescent" which is a brand name.
the original M16's made by Armalite are longer, Armalite Corp improve the design of M16's at the same time making it smaller, came along other weapons manufacturers copy the design of M16's, naturally media misquoted military officials saying baby Armalite for the new and improve M16's. The rest is history.
@assailant101 DONT GET ME WRONG SIR WE SHARE THE SAME AMUSEMENT OVER THE MISNOMERS OF baby-armalite, baby m-16, infant m-16. Just shows how gun-IGNORANT most Filipinos are, however they make up for it with courage in abundance.
@assailant101 Then the high-caliber term was one that I found most amusing, speaking from the basis of small arms having less than 1-inch in diameter pounds for its projectile, then technically inclined people would lean towards howitzers, filed guns and mortars, what a surprise it was assault rifles thay they are referring to as high-caliber.
@assailant101 THen they coined the term "HIGH-POWERED and HIGH CALIBER" to refer to assault weapons and other military grade small arms. Technically speaking, a .22 caliber was supposed to be low power, disregarding the fact the powder load can be varied, for example a caliber .22 Jet Magnum load, in other terms .22 caliber can translate to 5.56mm, they hey call it high-power.
@assailant101 or a springfield, a bushmasterfor that matter. Blame it on the local mediamen sir, our media reporters are "know it alls". They do not understand the bearing that their words have on the people, and rthey do not know what they are saying. The first "BABY-ARMALITE" was the COLT-commando, then the next "BABY-ARMALITE" was the M4-Carbine. Then there was the M-203 rifle = goes for any assault rifle with the M-203 grenade launcher attachment.
i agree with you,it does matter, you can find a lot of m16 or ar 15 manufacturer, and one of those is armalite in which correct if im wrong , was the first who produced or patented the m 16. You can find low end to excelent quility of components regarding this beautiful toy.
