That's sort of the point. Once in the minds of your people your country represents the Beacon of Freedom Around the World, you can con them into thinking that even if they're no longer free.

This is another benefit in the game that makes no sense. You build a statute that represents LIBERTY to all and you can now change to a government that doesn't mean that? So if you are Democracy you can now become a Monarch or Communist nation without problem all because you have a statute that honors the rights of all people and freedom and liberty? Oh boy were the people of whatever country it was built in conned royally.
"We are Communism now? YES! No protesting here. WE have a statue !!"

@testohwise I'm just glad they didn't use "Liberty Bell"

@morniexutulie A bicycle or a motorcycle?

There should also be a wonder for the bike of Liberty which is next to it. :P

@Drackoe That's true, we take our own rights and freedoms for granted so much we don't even notice we're doing it. Lady Liberty is the only lady ever to win the hearts of every American.

I build the statue only for the music =)

@Aetheilas I actually prefered democracy myself, cause the speed you could discover the techs was da shizz.. While Communism.. Excuse me.. Ran like a snail... (1 new tech every 4-6 turns FTW!.)

I built the Statue of Liberty so that I could have Communism as early as possible.
Lol.

@white000bear Then the statue has worked its magic! Whenever politicans struggle with each other and throw the whole country in chaos before gov't changes, you'll never know it! You'll be thinking about ice cream.
The meaning it more of a opinion of oneself upon it, for some its a icon, others its gift from France to celebrate America's independence, for others its a start of a new life. So many ways to look at this. The statue is not about a person but about a idea. Though you also showed your side of what it means, so don't take this reply is a insult. Just look it on others sides of the matter.

You only forget its meaning because the principles it embodies have so thoroughly and completely won.
