@360Nomad You didn't really answer my question: Why would Africa be devoid of hope if Europe isn't? Yes, Europe had to go through hell to get to the (relatively) stable state it's at now, but IT STILL GOT THERE, which is the whole point. There are a handful of democracies in Africa today, and there are plenty of places that are defined by more than war and poverty.

@Punktperson Well I've yet to see a individual who can break the mindless cycle warlordism (the closet Africa has is Nelson Mandela, and he probably won't live to see 2020). Remember, Europe needed to have it's borders redrawn and entire governments to be brought down (i.e. Tsarist Russia and the Kaiser) to change. And even, the people of the Balkans still butcher each other like animals once every few decades.
