Dangerous Waters Tutorials
Part 00 - NAV Map Overview

Dangerous Waters is a naval simulation developed by Sonalysts Combat Simulations, released on February 22, 2005. The game features several playable vessels, including the Los Angeles-class, Akula-class, and Seawolf-class nuclear submarines, and the Kilo-class diesel submarine. Dangerous Waters also models several non-submersible platforms, including the Perry-class frigate, the SH-60 Seahawk helicopter, and the P-3 Orion patrol aircraft. Campaign mode allows a player to control forces as the United States, Russian Loyalists, Russian Rebels, or China.

The game was initially not sold in stores, and was only available through the website www.battlefront.com. It received generally positive reviews, although the limited distribution and highly technical nature of the game meant it was unlikely to find a very large audience. In December 2005, Dangerous Waters was made available at retail stores by publisher Strategy First. In early January 2006, Valve announced it would be selling Dangerous Waters via its Steam content delivery system. The preload began January 24 2006, and was released a few weeks later, February 7. A 570 page manual can be purchased from the Strategy First website.

Dangerous Waters was published in Europe by BlackBean Games and was in UK stores on May 26 2006. It included exclusive European content on a second DVD (also available on the company's website). A 90-page printed manual was included in the box (comprised of the first four sections of the 570 page manual, plus appendices), with the full manual as a PDF file.

  • @RedDawnJensen Its made by the same creator and they wanted to have the same realism as sub command but with more "stuff"

  • Umm... why is this the same goddamn game as "Sub Command"??

This looks way better though, as in the graphics.

  • thats on the lookout station. You can't walk around the ship like you would like to but you do get a 300 degree veiw of the ocean to view your surroundings.

  • this game already does most of what your asking for. Its been said to be the most relistic naval battle simulator to date. The game doesn't focus on special effects and you can't see the visual damage done by explosions.

  • I don't know if there is a more realistic game, as I have not played every game. This is a very realistic game. It is similar to Fleet Command, but more detailed. It is different from Fleet Command in that it is updated to run under current Windows OSes. You can move to different stations, but not freely about the ship.

  • There are no carriers or jets in the game Dangerous Waters that you can control.

  • And also allow players to move freely on ships deck to view the surroundings?

  • And also the ships explosion doesn't seems so real as we can see from some documentary movies. Can we see something like breaking the ship into 2?

  • Does anyone know if there is a more realistic game we can find than this one like allowing multiplayers to man all stations manually and also allow players to go into jets and takeoff from the aircraft carriers and also comes with a complete instructions manual on how to man all the stations etc?

  • learn to spell and we'll tell you.
