Crital Mass gets it engine re-installed after about 3 years of this plane being completely re-built. Previously a Reno race plane,"Critical Mass", it is now going back to "stock" configuration except for the engine. For those at "Hanger Talk" that had questions, the planes fuselage was indeed rebuilt in Ione at Sanders Aeronautics. The center section was re-built here at the Auburn Airport. I work at the airport and help with avionics at Sanders so I had the opportunity to watch this project of restoring the fuselage on numerous occasions. Sanders did a fantastic job of fabricating many new pieces to get this done. Sanders employees are truly very skilled people and are in a class of their own. The team that the Dwelle's have in Auburn is also Top notch, as you can see in the video it took only about 2 minutes to mount the engine, there were no complications and everything went smooth because of the combined skills of all involved.
Thats too bad, Critical Mass was one od the sickest racers out there, now seems it will just blend in with all the other R-3350 powered Sea Fury's
