This is a short video of Joe hand crafting a foot tolliker millinery tool. The foot tolliker tool is used by milliners to create a break line between the crown of a hat and its brim. This line will beautify the hat, defined its brim from its crown, give the hat structural strengh and give the milliner a guide line for the proper placement of its sweatband and outer band.

This video does not imply, represent or show the whole process of making this millinery tool. The intention here is to give the viewer a small glimpse of the process.

Some of the steps not included in this video are: the buying and selection of the best maple wood from which these millinery tools are made of, the patterns that are drawn on paper and transferred on to the piece of wood, the non electrical hand tools that are used to hand carve, the waxing, sand papering and the many others steps that are required to finish this product.

The process time to make about six of these foot tolliker tools can take anywhere from a week and a half to two weeks. I hope you enjoy the video!
